Huka Falls has always been literally Lake Taupo’s biggest attraction!. The falls are easily accessible from Huka falls Road as you come into Taupo driving on the Thermal Explorer Highway. There is a perfect viewing platform/bridge that crosses the Waikato River right above the Falls. There is plenty of car parking and a small shop to purchase an Ice-cream or postcard to send home.
For those with a little more energy, a great way to see the falls is to walk from Town. Spa Park to Huka Falls takes about 40 minutes each way. Check out the Map we made showing the walk and distance
